Why We Like The Greycliff 3 Tent: 3-Person 3-Season

The mostly mesh canopy gives us an unhindered view of our unspoiled surroundings and plenty of comfortable ventilation. When conditions are more extreme, the durable, factory-sealed UV-resistant fly and waterproof floor offer protection against the surprise storms.

We just returned from a 3 night trip in West Virginia. Due to the "odd" shape of the tent set-up can be challenging at first but it will quickly make sense. Fitting the rainfly is a similar challenge having to rotate it to find the direction it attaches. It rained and rained and rained. After the first night the rain penetrated the rainfly so was dripping inside the tent. the floor seemed to do a good job staying mostly dry even setting up in wet grass, weeds, etc.. I mostly like the tent and would enjoy it in dry weather even more. I'm going to try and seal the rainfly and see if that helps.

If your looking for a durable, easy to set up tent then this one fits the bill. It has a great price point for the features and size. Have used this tent on multiple backpacking trips over the last 10 months and it has done very well (even in heavy downpours). When you split up the weight between 2 or three people it works great for backpacking though it is on the heavier side. The large vestibules are great for gear storage and it vents reasonably well. This would be a great choice for the occasional backpacker because of price, quality, and ease of use. But I will be looking to purchase something closer to the “ultralight” weight in the future. I give it a 5 star! (Pro tip: the optional footprint was also a great purchase as well.)
