Great Single Pitch Belay Device

- I've put it through the wringer
I have been using the Pilot since it first came out. It is a game changer for single pitch climbing. It’s light weight and ease in lowering someone makes it so much bette then a regular ATC. Also it feeds out rope quickly and easily when you use it for a lead climber. For people who don’t think it’s good for lead climbing I would encourage you to keep working with it. In my opinion it is much smoother and reliable then the GriGri in feeding rope to a lead climber. I have never short roped anyone with the Pilot and I (and many others) can’t say that about the GriGri. I am not trying to bash the GriGri as it is my go to belay device for bringing someone up on a multi-pitch climb but for single pitch climbing, you can’t beat the Pilot!
