Prefer my Fall Lines
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I’ve had a pair of Fall Lines for four years. They were outstanding in all ways - warm in single digits, extremely comfortable, and bad ass looking, and they fit so well that I had no trouble from a dexterity standpoint. They just aren’t as warm as they were, though, and thinking it might be due to the foam insulation, I decided to try the Omni with the highly touted G-Loft insulation. These are nice looking, but the leather seems thinner than that of the Fall Line. They aren’t nearly as warm as I’d expected, based on G-Loft reviews, and the sizing is different than the Fall Line. The fingers are a little longer, but the thumbs are much longer, so the dexterity is terrible. The fingers and thumb are also looser than those of the Fall Line. This is likely due to the G-Loft being thinner and less dense than the foam in the Fall Line. They’re great for shoveling snow and other heat generating activities that don’t require dexterity, but that’s it. I highly recommend the Fall Line. In addition to the other pros, the external seams rock.
